About the Florence Bamidele Makanjuola Scholarship
The Opekete Foundation is proud to launch the 2024/25 FBM Scholarships for students who want to become nurses or teachers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.
The foundation is dedicated to helping the next generation of teachers and healthcare workers by providing them with financial aid to succeed and make a difference in their careers.
This scholarship honors the late Mrs. Florence Bamidele Makanjuola, who was a teacher and nurse. She was passionate about empowering women to be self-reliant and was concerned about the state of education and the quality of teachers during her lifetime.
To continue her legacy, her children and grandchildren have created this scholarship through the Florence Fund.

Eligibility Requirements for the 2025 FBM Scholarship
To apply for the FBM Scholarship, you must:
- Be a female Nigerian citizen.
- Have been accepted or be currently enrolled in a public university or Senior Secondary School in Nigeria.
- Be attending or planning to attend a public or federal government-owned Senior Secondary School or University.
- Be interested in or willing to study Teaching, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), or Nursing at the university level.
Academic Qualifications:
- Secondary School Applicants:
- Must have at least 5 Distinctions (A or B) in English, Mathematics, and three other major subjects in the Junior WAEC exams.
- University Applicants:
- Must have at least 5 Distinctions (A1-B3) in English, Mathematics, and three other major subjects in WAEC/NECO, taken in one sitting.
- Must meet the required JAMB cut-off score for the chosen course and university.

- Secondary School Students: Up to N350,000 per year.
- University Students: Up to N650,000 per year.

How to Apply for the Florence Bamidele Makanjuola Scholarship
